Issue Three Front Cover

Huge, huge thanks to everyone that submitted a front cover for our next issue, every month we're so delighted with the amount of talent that is out there.

I think this month may have actually been the hardest to choose our favourite so far, the entries were so diverse!
However, we LOVE William Sandford's submission & we are very happy to have it on our front cover!

You can see all our other fabulous entries over on our online gallery.

Ok folks, time to start doodling for our Issue Three front cover!

Our next theme will be 'Bruised Knees & ABCs'.

Feel free to interpret the theme any way you please, but if you're stuck, think childhood/typography/innocence & follow these super simple guidelines:

  • Entries must be A5 and in black & white
  • Entries must be submitted by 15th September

Our favourite submission will be featured on our front cover, runners up will be included inside the zine & all entries will be displayed in our online gallery.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's work!

If you haven't already got your copy of Issue One or Two, you can do so here.

Nice words.

It really is lovely when we get nice feedback about our little zine.

On of the main aims of Heart & Lungs is to inspire people, so when we got a tweet saying...

'Your zine is so inspirational :) really want to create my own little zine now :)'

...it put a massive smile on our faces.

Any more feedback you'd like to give? Leave us a comment & let us know what you think of our zine, or things we could improve, we'd love to hear from you.

We are back in the not so sunny Glasgow after 10 days in a similarly not so sunny Spain, most days looked like this...

However, we had an AMAZING time at the Ilu-station Fest in Barcelona.

We browsed though many an awesome zine at the zine market held at Miscelanea...

...checked out exhibitions at Fat Bottom Books, Chandal, Cream Espai Creatiu...

...and took part in the Ilu-station workshops...

A big thank you to Manu who was kind enough to take time to talk to us & show us around.

We are most definitely inspired & may even think about holding our own zine market here in Scotland sometime in the future!

We're off on holiday!

Tomorrow we're setting off to Barcelona for this...

We're excited.

This does however mean that any orders of our June/July issue won't be sent out until we get back on the 15th June. But it'll be worth the wait I'm sure.

Adios amigos!
